Not all Limo Hire companies have their Limos/Hummers licenced to COIF specifications - meaning the Limos do not comform
to current Ministry of Transport (VOSA) regulations, and you are therefore, potentially uninsured - not a risk you would sensibly take when hiring a Hummer Limo for your children to go on a School Prom in!
This is also completely illegal, and could mean if the Limo is stopped by police for any reason, the Hummer could be immediately impounded and taken away - spoiling the hire outing completely and leaving you and your guests stranded.

The Hummer Limos we hire derive from stretching the body of the Hummer H2 and creating a luxury seating area for up to 16 passengers. It is illegal to carry more than 16 passengers in a Hummer Limo hired in the UK. Also the H2 Hummer hired must be Ministry of Transport approved (VOIP) for use in the UK. Do not hire a Hummer Limo from companies that are not using approved Hire Hummer Limos as you are potentially at risk of no insurance cover in the event of an accident, and the Hummer limo you hired could be impounded by the police if stopped and your Hummer hire experience will be ruined.
HISTORY OF THE HUMMER
Hummer was a marque of trucks sold by General Motors. The HUMMER brand was not transferred to Motors Liquidation Company as part of the GM bankruptcy. Instead, this brand was retained by GM in order to investigate selling the brand.
The original Hummer H1 was based on the military High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV, or Humvee). However, the Hummer H2 and the Hummer H3 were based on other, smaller civilian-market vehicles.
At the end of February 2010, General Motors announced that the company would begin dismantling the Hummer brand.[4] Two days later, the automaker announced it had been approached with new offers for the brand after the deal with Sichuan Tengzhong could not be completed.[5] However, by April 2010, any sale of the brand became unlikely as inventory depleted and Hummer dealerships began shutting down.[6]
